Oil Spill Booms: Inflatable

PORTAPAK 5

This low cost, semi-disposable oil spill control boom is designed for fast deployment in rivers, streams and other calm areas. The PORTAPAK 5 is supplied in a kit consisting of 5m x 4m sections of PVC boom, foot pump and ball of securing cord. A 4m section has an aluminum quick connector on each end so that the desired lengths can be easily achieved. PORTAPAK 5 boom is lightweight, with each 4m section weighing 1kg, enabling one man to carry a 20m pack without effort over any terrain.

RIVERBOOM

Designed for fast deployment in rivers and estuaries these booms feature high quality polyurethane coasted fabric construction which is tested for oil and U.V. resistance. Tension cables built into the boom skirt, ensure maximum strength and when packaged in carry bags, booms can be easily transported in a small trailer or car boot. Portable two-stroke inflators are capable of inflating a 25m section in under 20 seconds. Oil containment in flow condition up to 18m/min is excellent and because the boom material is smooth, cleaning after a spillage is straightforward. Unlikely puncture repair is easy using glue or heat applied patches.

PORTBOOM/OCEANBOOM

Designed for the harbor and coastal use these booms feature reinforced ends valve openings, galvanized tension wire, aluminium universal connectors and large diameter inflation valves. Booms can be easily on hand or hydraulically powered reels or in two man carry connectors, anchor pillars and end floats are available on request.

BEACHBOOM

The beachboom forms a perfect seal between the shore and water with an air filled upper tube and water filled skirt. Pressure relief valves in the water tube prevent accidental damage when filling tube with water pump. Large diameter air valves ensure rapid inflation of air tube.
